Town of Islip Atlantique Marina Dock Master Frank Franzone, and Dock Attendants Conner Dennehy and Tyler Vogt were honored at Tuesday’s Town Board meeting for keeping boaters and beach goers safe during a devastating storm that struck Long Island June 30th.

The trio ran through wind, rain and hail, tying up and securing boats in the Atlantique Marina and keeping residents protected inside a shed, and away from a snapped electrical pole, while a powerful storm rolled through the south shore.

“We truly have the most dedicated and selfless employees, here in the Town of Islip,” said Supervisor Angie Carpenter at the Town Board Meeting. “They reacted quickly, thinking of the safety of others first, before themselves,” she added, “and they are truly deserving of this recognition.”
