Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter visited the F.J. O’Neill Elementary School in Central Islip this week, to help launch the school’s PARP celebration. Designed to foster literacy and a love of reading.

Supervisor Carpenter read, “The Great South Bay,” a book that illustrates life and experiences that occur on and around the bay, to the F.J. O’Neill Elementary School students

“Reading is important because it develops the mind. By teaching children to read at an early age, we’re helping them develop their language skills and their ability to listen,” said Supervisor Carpenter.
