Islip, NY – A three-story property at 1152 E. 3rd St. in Bay Shore was razed this morning after the Islip Town Board passed a resolution for demolition on July 12, 2022, by unanimous decision. The Townpassed a Board Up/Clean Up resolution on the property in June of 2020. A subsequent follow-up report from the Town’s Code Investigator resulted in a declaration of immediate hazard from the Town’s Chief Building Inspector.
“Demolitions are typically a long and arduous process, and moving forward with removing this unsafe property with as little delay as possible is encouraging. The property has been the source of many complaints from the community, and we are thrilled today to be able to satisfy those complaints,” said Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter.“
We remain sensitive to the safety concerns of our residents and will continue to move forward, ridding the Town of Islip of these eyesores. I and the entire Town Board are committed to ensuring that all residents in the Town enjoy a quality of life, and we will continue to fight for the removal of such neglected and dangerous properties in our neighborhoods,” said Supervisor Carpenter.
