Maintaining Transparency in Government

When Supervisor Carpenter took office on March 1, 2015 she immediately convened a task force to review the Town Budget. The task force found the Town Budget difficult to understand, even for experts. A directive was made that future budgets be more accessible to ordinary citizens who need to understand how tax dollars are spent.  Angie’s first Operating Budgets are very different from past budgets or previous administrations. Instead of lines and rows of meaningless numbers, there is a narrative for each department describing its functions and explains how the money will be spent in plain English, providing both transparency in the budget process and a baseline for future accountability.

Supervisor Angie Carpenter maintains an open door policy. If a constituent has a question or concern, they simply have to contact our Constituent Services Department where they will find people dedicated to helping them.
