MacArthur Airport

Islip Airport Finally Takes Off
Under Angie’s leadership, MacArthur Airport has gone from losing $1 Million in 2016 to now earning the town $1 Million, and that’s just the beginning.
Newly appointed commissioner Shelly LaRose Arkin’s “Stress Less, Pay Less” campaign moves Islip into the future and gives travelers an option to congested city airports. Considered an aviation crown jewel by many, MacArthur Airport is Islip Town’s most valuable asset. The airport contributes annually $600 Million to the local economy and supports more than 6,000 jobs. In 2018 the airport offered 2.17 million seats, a 27.6 percent increase over the previous year, adding 300,000 passengers. Angie’s efforts resulted in MacArthur being named 2018’s fastest growing regional airport.
Currently hosting 3 major carriers, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines, Islip serves more than a dozen destinations with 34 flights daily and offers connections to 800 more around the globe.
