Islip’s Green Initiative for the Future

Supervisor Angie Carpenter planning installations of two solar panel farms on closed landfills in the Town of Islip. We are also installing energy efficient lighting throughout town buildings and replacing vehicles with efficient models.

The Town of Islip has Long Island’s only municipal compost facility where residents can come by anytime to pick-up free compost. Islip is also one of the very few municipalities in New York State that have a revenue generating, dual stream recycling initiative.
